NERF Sent Us Super Soakers!

The time has come! Spring Break was this past week (or the one before that) for most kids in my area. It's a time that signals warmer weather and Summer fun being just around the corner. For some of you, warmer weather may already be a constant, but around Colorado, the weather stays bi-polar. So, we'll hope for the best.

To gear up for Spring/Summer 2014, our friends at NERF sent us the package seen in this video so that we can bring you info on some of the best toys to get!

The Huntsman

Hey Warriors! Check out this latest review from us here at Click Click BAMF. I was planning to get to this review a long time ago, but other stuff got in the way. But here it is now! It's the Lanard Hunstman 50 (or Commando 12).

Sadly, There still isn't a great stock sniper blaster out there. This one comes close -especially in looks.

And a heads up; We're bringing our "Shot of the Week" back at the end of the coming week. As you know, we started the weekly invite just after the new year. We took our Spring Break early so that we could bring you more material during actual Spring breaks in our area. More material coming about Nerf, Dart Warz Centennial, Lanard and others!

MEGA Redemption, MEGA Magnus Makes Us Reconsider

Fun times, warriors. We took a moment in all of the other NERF news that has been coming out to get out our thoughts on the new NERF N-Strike Elite MEGA Magnus.

The Magnus may have saved the hope for the MEGA line in my opinion. Now there is a viable option for a sidearm that makes the MEGA darts worthwhile. As we said in the unboxing blog, the Magnus comes off like the desert eagle of NERF. The intimidation factor alone may be a reason for some warriors to pick it up and use it. The MEGA Centurion just didn't cut it. You can check out that blog here if you'd like to see more about it.

We know that the MEGA Thunderbow has been making the rounds at the Toy Fairs too since we told you about it being announced in January. Foam From Above got a hands-on look at it during the New York toy fair too!

Well warriors, are you sold on the MEGA line or are you still waiting for that one blaster that you like? ~Chris

Sidestrike, A Trusty Sidearm

Warriors! We took the opportunity to release the review of the new NERF Zombie Strike Sidestrike this weekend. I must say, it performed really well for me in the latest war. I need to go back and test out the Firestrike again though. Sidestrike may have lost on distance.

Don't forget about our Shot of the Week contest!! You can enter now. The winner is picked late on Thurdays.

Thoughts on the Fusefire - Review

Warriors,

I stayed up way too late working on this review. I hope it makes sense and that you enjoy it. As always, please share it through G+, facebook or wherever else you care to! We love hearing your thoughts about the blasters also, so please feel free to comment. Meet the Zombie Strike Fusefire.

This blaster was impressive to me for a Vortex-type release. Still having a little trepidation in picking it up for $20, though.

Don't forget that we have big NERF news coming out in a couple of hours! ~Chris

Nerf Assault Blaster - The Elite Rapidstrike Review

Hey Warriors,

We recorded the NERF N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike review over the weekend. I'm pretty impressed with the output on this beast, but the accuracy left much to be desired. This is so close to one of the greatest blasters available but for that downfall in targetting.

I still really like this blaster and I feel that it does have application in a NERF war. As some other bloggers have pointed out, the semi-auto blasters like the Hail-fire or the Stryfe may still be better options for accurately raining darts on your enemies whereas the Rapidstrike could be a supressive fire hound.

Mega Centurion - Mega Sad?

Warriors!

Another review up for you. It's very rare that we have to give NERF bad marks on a blaster, but that time has come. This is a great show-off piece, but not really something to use effectively on the battlefield -at least not stock.

Plenty of modders have mentioned that they like the Centurion for the amount of space and possibilities, but are you really going to want to drop 50 bucks on this for just the shell? What other ideas do you have for this one?

Let me know what you think!

Mega Centurion - Going the Distance?

Mega whistler darts that can go "up to" 100 feet when launched from the Centurion? You know that's likely going to mean 100 feet on an arc. Still, that also means it will go farther firing it straight than current stock blasters. After a years-long quest, will this be the first true sniper blaster?
Yes, there are already those in the mod community that out-range this stock blaster. Several people have mentioned to My Last Dart and on the NERF facebook that they are happy with their BBLS and blow guns. I assume that BBLS means brass-breached long shot in this case. But I'd say this will be a game changer for the weekend warriors who don't have the time to spend on mods!

From Wikipedia:
centurion [...] was a professional officer of the Roman army after the Marian reforms of 107 B.C. Most centurions commanded 80 men but senior centurions commanded cohorts, or took senior staff roles in their legion. Centurions were also found in the Roman navy.
Centuries, or Centuriae, means tribe or company.[2] Theoretically, this word traces its roots to centum which is Latin for one hundred,[2] but that connection is widely disputed or disregarded.[3][4][5]
I'm not sure the name communicates the range/snipe abilities of this blaster, but MAYBE they are using that one-hundred foot range for the inspiration?

You've got to be looking forward to finding out how this performs. Have you seen the review for the Power 48 blaster from Air Zone? You can hear the NERF whistlers in the Range test as they hit an average of 97 feet. I imagine the mega whistlers will sound even better. Whistlers aren't an addition to shootouts like Popular Science says, but satisfying indeed!

Since before we had confirmation on the Centurion in late May, folks have been lookign for every scrap of information. I can tell you we'll have a lot more later this month. Keep checking back! ~Chris

Foam Shotguns. Who wins?

Hey Warriors! Just posting up the last couple of reviews. Been meaning to keep up on that! Just below is the most recent review from Coop in the West Coast division. I love the title -Double Barrels of FAIL! Take heed to his warning about the quality.

Here is a better shotgun attempt. Of course, this one would be from the folks at NERF.

Let us know what you think! Have you tried these blasters? Will you be getting them? ~Chris
