Oh, warriors! Meet one of the newest blasters revealed from Nerf. It's the NERF N-Strike Elite Dual-Strike. Heck. YES.
You can see here that the product is ready for merchandising and yes, it will be released for the Spring 2016 season. What that translates to is that you will possibly see them on shelves ahead of Christmas 2015 as some stores work to get their product out early. BTW, it's set for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
It's a blaster with selective firing between MEGA OR Elite darts, coming with three of each. It's a likely secondary for many a player in anything from HvZ to Arena warfare. Imagine the ability to shoot special zombies or bust a shield and immediately switch back to "regular" ammunition.
Some people are already pegging this as "gimmicky". I guess that depends on your description of the word. Everything innovative could be called "gimmicky" too, but that doesn't always have to carry the negative connotation with it.
Personally, I see this opening up several doors for creativity and fun. Any YES, this will keep up with other blasters in the pistol class. The thing has some amazing pop to it right out of the box. Mr. S. from Nerd Drop rocked was zipping those darts right where he wanted them and you can see where they were bouncing back too.
I didn't notice any noise of air leaking from the opposite chambers during the testing either. Kind of good to know considering how easily that switch moves. I wondered if there would be a good seal.
I also appreciate that they left the priming handle in the good old fall back spot. Anything else would probably just be in the way with this particular design.

This looks extremely interesting, I think families who have a mix of Elite darts and Mega darts will love to pick this blaster up to add to their arsenal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Kyle. Should be hitting local Wal-marts and a few available on Amazon now! Looking forward to getting ours! ~Chris
DeleteHopefully this leads to more hybrid designs. I want an over/under rifle/shotgun. Dual magazines for Elite and Mega darts. Bolt prime for the elite on top and shotgun prime for the mega on the bottom.
