Nerf N-Strike Elite Dual-Strike Revealed!

Oh, warriors! Meet one of the newest blasters revealed from Nerf. It's the NERF N-Strike Elite Dual-Strike. Heck. YES.

You can see here that the product is ready for merchandising and yes, it will be released for the Spring 2016 season. What that translates to is that you will possibly see them on shelves ahead of Christmas 2015 as some stores work to get their product out early. BTW, it's set for a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Rotofury on Store Shelves?

Reddit has it boys and girls. User, _Emotionless, posted a find from a store in Hong Kong in the Nerf subreddit.

_Emotionless found it listed at 298 Hong Kong dollars which translates to $38.44 in US dollars. That's not bad considering the MSRP below.

The Rotofury is something we've been hearing about officially since January. NERF sent our the press release with these details back then.

***NERF MEGA RotoFury Blaster***Image and Information Under Embargo until 1/19/15
(Ages 8 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $34.99/Available: Fall 2015)
Supersize your NERF battles and dominate the field with the highest capacity MEGA blaster ever! The MEGA RotoFury blaster gives you the option of firing one MEGA Whistler Dart at a time, or slam firing a steady stream of ten darts in a row. Hear the darts whistle as they fly through the air and hit targets up to 90 feet away.  Includes 10 MEGA Whistler Darts. Available at most major retailers nationwide and HasbroToyShop.com.

Good images of the blaster have been coming out since Vas from Foam From Above was blasting out images from his annual visit to the Toy Fair! I am excited to see which other blasters from the fair will come out soon. Look over at F2A for images of the other cool blasters such as the Thunderblast which I am totally excited for!!

I want to get hands on this blaster. The assumed mechanics in this one remind me a lot of what I expected the NERF Vortex Revonix to be. Pump-action blasters please me when they are fed by a magazine. Generally the ammo feed works out pretty well in that case. I haven't had as much luck with the turret/barrel situation on pump-action. Really want to try it out, though! ~Chris

The Current MEGA Line

Hey Warriors!

You know those reviews we've been promising? They're coming up now. We just posted the MEGA Cyclone shock review. There are a LOT of good things coming from this blaster. There was a little disappointment in there as well though :( Check out the review to find out what we're talking about. BUT THE BIGGEST PART: Could there be a giveaway announcement tucked in there too?

While we were finishing up that review, Dart Warz put up a group review for the MEGA BigShock we were honored to be a part of! They had their tournament recently and I had a complete blast being part of it along with the store teams and Vas from Foam From Above!

We have our individual BigShock review coming up in a while, but don't be shocked if a lot of what was said in the Dart Warz video is reflected there too! ~Chris

MEGA CycloneShock - Behind the Blaster

Warriors: I think I'll finally get some of those reviews up at the end of the week.

In the mean time, I've got a pretty fun sneak peak to throw your way. Our friends at NERF wanted you to get an early look at their latest video. Check out the excitement that some of the team at NERF HQ have for the MEGA Cyclone Shock!

I think the CycloneShock is actually pretty exciting. Yeah, maybe it can't really knock over humongous signs like they show in the video, but it sure can make the enemy duck on the battlefield. More to come on that! ~Chris

The ECS-12 Cam Blaster and others

So Warriors,

In case you missed it on Youtube, we recently got a care package in the mail from our friends over at Nerf. We got a chance to un-box the ECS-12 Cam blaster and also found the Demolisher and the MEGA Thunderbow in the box.

All of these are in testing now and they'll get comprehensive reviews soon! Which one do you want to pick up the most?

New Nerf on the Way . . But not quite yet.

So, warriors. There is a fine line when it comes to news and how we share it.

You may be familiar with some Nerf-specific leaks that have come out from China over the years -especially recent years. We try to bring you interesting information as we are able. But we also try not to support physical theft or the theft of intellectual property. Most of those leaks are actually theft. If it looks like fish, smells like a fish and swims like a fish . . . it's probably a fish.

While we can't ignore news. We will ignore the specific image leak from the Far East that includes the Modulus and other proposed 2015 releases for a little longer while we await some more official news. It's the internet, so the image is out there for you to find and some other blogs and fans are noticing some pretty cool things.

The Modulus sounds like something that was hinted at during our hangout with the NERF leadership earlier this year. They did indicate that they were looking at something big in the vein of accessorizing. I'm also very excited about where some of the MEGA line is going.

More to come! ~Chris

Demolisher and Others Available Online

Check out Amazon.com, warriors. It holds all of the blasters we just saw at the Nerf All Access event last night! You need to see #nerfallaccess on social media for other little tidbits. Don't worry, we're working on more video too!

The Nerf Elite 2-in-1 Demolisher is listed at it's MSRP of $39.99. It comes with 10 Elite darts for the banana clip and two missiles -one for the chamber and one for the storage.

The missile launcher definitely brings the intimidation factor back like the Titan used to show off. If you want an updated Stryfe with the added joy of a launcher, this is your new main.

The Nerf MEGA Thunderbow is listed at $39.99 too. To be clear, when Amazon says the blaster fires 5 darts at a time, they mean in a row -not at once.

I really look forward to getting the Thunderbow. Along with the bow from the Rebelle line, I think it this will be the first time NERF has given us a completely new option. The Zing bows really do get some competition with this one.

The NERF Cam ECS 12 also showed up on Amazon. It lists as The Nerf Pro-Cam. The folks at NERF HQ told us that this will remain as an online-only blaster for now, so don't bother waiting for it to show up in stores.

The price-point is still really high on this one. You're looking at dropping $70 on it. The performance was really good at the All Access event. 70 bucks good? I'm still not sure.

The Slingfire was also listed on Amazon, but it went back to "currently unavailable" at the moment. The Slingfire is back up on Amazon too! This one seems like a lot of fun. Using it, you get a great feel like you are in a cross between the wild west and post apocalyptica. And have you seen the trick shots that Vas the Stampede and F2A was pulling off?

The NERF Attacknid was at the event too, but was still a prototype. For now I still have my eyes set on the Stealth Stryder from Combat Creatures. A designer with the NERF Attacknid told me that they worked to simplify the NERF version. It won't have all the bells and whistles, but should function well for everybody.

Any specific one of these you're going after? ~Chris

NERF All Access Party - Thunderbow

Warriors! I had to keep it "hush-hush" until the day of, but we have plenty of video and pics from the NERF All Access party that just happened tonight in New York.

NERF was awesome enough to invite a select group of bloggers out for yet another kickoff of some of their flagship blasters for the season.

Among the other products was the MEGA Thunderbow. Honestly, I had somewhat forgotten about it because it feels like forever since it was announced. Well, I certainly won't forget it now!

Not only am I impressed by all of the physical qualities, this blaster also has the potential to completely kick ass and take names. Just look at what we did with a few seconds of fooling around.

What trick shots are you hoping to try?

More NERF info coming out of the event soon! And don't forget the facebook contest we announced. (Hint: Look at the blog about the Google Hangout for the information!)

MEGA Redemption, MEGA Magnus Makes Us Reconsider

Fun times, warriors. We took a moment in all of the other NERF news that has been coming out to get out our thoughts on the new NERF N-Strike Elite MEGA Magnus.

The Magnus may have saved the hope for the MEGA line in my opinion. Now there is a viable option for a sidearm that makes the MEGA darts worthwhile. As we said in the unboxing blog, the Magnus comes off like the desert eagle of NERF. The intimidation factor alone may be a reason for some warriors to pick it up and use it. The MEGA Centurion just didn't cut it. You can check out that blog here if you'd like to see more about it.

We know that the MEGA Thunderbow has been making the rounds at the Toy Fairs too since we told you about it being announced in January. Foam From Above got a hands-on look at it during the New York toy fair too!

Well warriors, are you sold on the MEGA line or are you still waiting for that one blaster that you like? ~Chris

Announced! - MEGA Thunderbow by NERF

Just got confirmation on this, warriors! Our friends at Nerf confirm that the MEGA Thunderbow is a real thing. Mania.com got the scoop earlier today and has nice write-up of it. The pic is from them as you can see.

So here is the official language from NERF:
"NERF N-STRIKE MEGA THUNDERBOW Toy
(Ages 8 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $39.99/Available: Fall 14)
Awesome NERF MEGA performance transitions from blaster to bow with the addition of the N-STRIKE MEGA THUNDERBOW toy. The bow’s dynamic arms and traditional pull back system can fire five NERF MEGA whistler darts in a row up to an amazing 100 feet.  Includes 10 MEGA Whistler darts and holds up to five NERF MEGA darts at a time. Available at most major retailers nationwide and HasbroToyshop.com"

NERF confirms to us that the Thunderbow will be ready for a Fall 2014 release. I'm not sure how excited I am about a $40 price tag. I was ready to spend it on the Rapidstrike, but I was really glad when the price went down more. Seems a little steep for a foam-firing bow system. Who am I kidding, I'd spend it!

Desert Eagle of NERF? MEGA Magnus Un-boxing

Hey Warriors! Here is yet another unboxing for you. The NERF N-Strike Elite MEGA Magnus has been showing up in stores like Target and Walmart. In fact, I saw Walmart with an entire shelf of them mixed with Strongarms at the front of the store last night. In the video, I said we picked this one up at Target, but it was actually Walmart too.

Like many of the new NERF sidearms, the MEGA Magus is suggested to retail at $14.99. Certainly a far cry from the $50 MSRP they want you to spend of the MEGA Centurion. Of course, several of the retailers dropped that to about $40 recently too.

NERF in the News!

I just happened across two examples of NERF in pop culture and news last night and had to share. It's not uncommon to see these products show up in skits and sketches and the such, but it is fun to see!

First, I was in the newsroom at work and looked up to see a NERF Retaliator show up in one of the news stories. This one is about a town giving people licenses to shoot down government drones. Deer Trail, Colorado has been making the news a lot because of it. I'm not sure why he had a NERF blaster when there were plenty of real guns around, but it was cute and all. KDVR in Denver has a story about it. I'll let you make your own judgement on the actual story, but I thought it was funny that this guy was using a blaster to get his point across.

(More NERF in the news after the jump.)

Mega Centurion - Mega Sad?

Warriors!

Another review up for you. It's very rare that we have to give NERF bad marks on a blaster, but that time has come. This is a great show-off piece, but not really something to use effectively on the battlefield -at least not stock.

Plenty of modders have mentioned that they like the Centurion for the amount of space and possibilities, but are you really going to want to drop 50 bucks on this for just the shell? What other ideas do you have for this one?

Let me know what you think!

Sighting Report - Centurion, Rapidstrike Hit Store Shelves in Michigan

So Warriors, I didn't see any of the newer blasters hit store shelves in Colorado this past week, but I did make a sighting in Lansing, Michigan. The Meijer stores there beat any of my local stock in the Mountain Division of Click Click BAMF. Hopefully we'll see them on shelves closer to home soon.
Also, the price tag for the N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike was up. So, Michiganders will be seeing that beast soon too. The Rapidstrike is part of the recent package that NERF sent us, so that review will be on the way shortly as well! I must say that the blaster has impressed me greatly. This will be a game changer for some warriors. It cetainly is an improvement over the Stampede in many ways.

We've been getting a lot of your requests for specific reviews and we'll see about getting some of those done ASAP. I wish we could get to some of them sooner, but you know how the demands of life can be!

NERF MEGA Party Pic Spam

Warriors!

As you may have seen trending under #nerfmega last night, The Summer Bash welcoming the NERF MEGA Centurion and the other coming star blasters happened! It was a pleasure to meet up with some of our counterparts from all over the US.

To tide you over, here is the consolidated pic spam from last night. More to come on the tidbits we learned about and some thoughts on the Rapidstrike, Rebelle line, Centurion et cetera! You'll see many people from the NERF blogging community.  It was great to meet the Basic Nerf and Shining Foam guys in person too. Look for much camera work on the Click Click BAMF Youtube channel from Shining Foam and Chris' cam work on Shining Foam. We were able to team up for some fun stuff!

See Vas the Stampede from F2A (Foam From Above)?! He's one chill dude!

Look for cameos in the above video from Adult Fans of Nerf and Basic Nerf. This party was quite the Summer Bash! All the different colors of head bands etc. are from an on-going contest during the night.
Team Orange didn't win. They rejected my demand for a recount.

I was pretty dang impressed by the style of this NERF Mega Summer Bash. They even had snow cones named after blasters. Going to have to try to recreate the mango, chili and lime one!

The Centurion Arrives! - NERF N-Strike Elite MEGA Centurion Un-boxed

Warriors!

I've got a treat for you: The first actual comprehensive video of a MEGA Centurion un-boxing! Some of us in the blogging community are lucky enough to get a first look at these babies before they hit shelves. Speaking of which, check out Foam From Above's pic spam on the blaster. Glad to try this thing out on video! Check out the noise from it!! We even changed the opening logo sound effect this time in honor of it.

Well, What do you think guys? Any first impressions? Any questions burning in your mind. I'll have a unique opportunity to directly ask some of those questions for you in the next little while. ~Chris
